How to Write an AI Avatar Video Script With a Template

Use a two-scene AI avatar video script template. Separate speech from visuals, preview pronunciation, and test one scene in HeyGen or Synthesia.

How to Write an AI Avatar Video Script With a Template

Write one action the viewer should take, then give each scene its own spoken line and visual. Use the two-scene script template to draft a short walkthrough.

Copy the spoken lines into the script editor. Keep the screen directions and pronunciation notes with your production brief.

  1. Introduce the task. Spoken line — “Let’s set up your first project.” Visual — show the dashboard. Caption — “Set up your first project.”
  2. Show the first action. Spoken line — “Select New project, then give it a name.” Visual — highlight the New project button. Caption — “Select New project.”

Paste just the spoken line into each scene in HeyGen or Synthesia. Preview the button name and pacing before generating the rest. HeyGen script editor guide · Synthesia scene script guide

Choose one audience and one outcome

Write the one thing a viewer should understand or do after watching. A short onboarding explanation needs a different script from a product announcement. Keep the first test to one small scene so you can inspect delivery without spending a large allowance.

An avatar-led presentation and a generated cinematic scene are different workflows. Use a presenter tool when spoken explanation is the main output; choose a scene generator when the visual sequence is the main job.

Write for speech

Use short sentences and explicit transitions. Read the script aloud, replace ambiguous abbreviations and write names in a form that supports the intended pronunciation. Put on-screen text and visual instructions in separate fields so they are not accidentally spoken.

For each scene, record the spoken line, visual or screen reference, and any pronunciation note. Confirm the script with the content owner before generating a long video.

Preview before exporting

  1. Choose the avatar, voice and language supported by the plan.
  2. Generate a short scene and listen for pronunciation and pacing.
  3. Check captions, scene changes and any displayed numbers.
  4. Make one focused revision and preview again.
  5. Confirm watermark, download and intended-use conditions.

HeyGen and Synthesia offer script-driven presenter workflows. Their HeyGen and Synthesia plan pages describe different creation and delivery limits. A zero-dollar creation allowance does not automatically include the download you need.

Publish the reviewed version

Check that the final script, captions and visual assets match the intended message. Keep the approved text so future updates can be made scene by scene. For choosing between avatar and scene-generation products, use the video category below.
