nvEnvy vs Evernote

The task in common

Separate converting an ENEX archive from choosing the editor for future notes.

The smaller product scope

• Search notes by text and tags, then open or create a note from the keyboard.
• Read and write Markdown files with frontmatter, tags and wikilinks.
• Use a notes folder with iCloud Drive, plus documented nvALT import and document export routes.

What needs a separate plan

• Requires macOS 14 or later. The published scope does not include a current iPhone or iPad application.
• No graph view, canvas or plugin ecosystem is documented; the product deliberately concentrates on text notes.
• No direct ENEX importer is documented. Test a conversion route before moving an Evernote archive.
