SaaS Launch Checklist for the First Customer Journey
Before announcing the product, walk through what the first customer will do—and what happens when it fails. Cover account access, paid states, recovery and the public domain with observable checks.

StripeCustomer access → payment states → public release
01Use two accounts to check private-data isolation.
02Update paid access from trusted payment events, not a success page.
03Know the logs, backup location and rollback target before release.
Start with one practical task
Use a new account to complete one customer journey from signup to the first useful result. Include a failed payment or canceled action in the rehearsal and verify how the product recovers.
Check the customer journey and data access
Follow sign-up, sign-in, the main action and sign-out with controlled test accounts. Confirm one account cannot read another account's private records. For Supabase, the production checklist specifically calls for reviewing row-level security and policies.
Verify payment states without moving money
If the app charges customers, test success, failure and the relevant subscription transitions in the provider's sandbox. Confirm the app updates access from trusted payment events, not only from the browser's success screen.
Check recovery and public deployment
Know where logs, backups and service configuration live, and who can restore access. Verify the actual public domain over HTTPS and repeat the critical journey there. Keep a rollback target before the release.
Make public pages understandable and discoverable
Give the product and its main use cases clear pages with descriptive links. Keep private account screens out of the public content plan. Submit the intended public URLs in a sitemap and monitor actual indexing after launch.
A few more details
Does completing this checklist certify security or compliance?
No. It is an operational starting point. Your data, customers and obligations determine whether additional specialist reviews are needed.
